The "Bed and Breakfast nel Castello" is located within the ancient walls of Fontignano's Castle. Perugia is only 15 miles away. Fontignano is the the place where, in 1523, died the famous painter Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino (born around 1445 in Città della Pieve). He left unfinished his last work, The Nativity, which was above the entrance arch of the Oratory of the Confraternity of the Annunciation (Chiesa dell'Annunziata) and now the painting is at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
